Our systems also support Windows Vista, 2003 and 2008 which is a first in South Africa.

Players can be embedded in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and many more browsers supporting Active X components. Coupled with the fact that your stream can be heard around the globe (where ever internet access is available) your radio station’s expanse has no more geographic boundaries.

In essence, with us you will reach a larger target market with the least amount of hassles. Unlike our competitors we have completely phased out peer‐to‐peer networks and rely on the more stable and better service of a direct connection to the client. This saves your listeners bandwidth and allows for a better quality stream that can be controlled by you!

FLEXIBILITY

We do not restrict your control of your server at all! Using our control panel systems you have complete and absolute power to can change anything from concurrent listeners to bitrates within package limitations or negotiations.

Concurrent Listeners

Our packages support 32 to 85 000 concurrent listeners with the possibility of linking servers together. This gives the possibility or an unlimited amount of concurrent listeners if you desire. This will be initially setup by the provider but can be changed through the control panel outlined in this document. On selected products we don’t even meter your consumption! Introducing the first unmetered streaming audio hosting company.

Bit Rates

This directly correlates to the amount of bandwidth your line possesses. We currently stream, by default, at 320Kbps. Our servers currently come with 10mbit, 100mbit and 1000mbit connections. So on a 10mbit server at 320kbps you can support 4 concurrent viewers. Should you decide to drop this to 16kbps you can then support 640 concurrent viewers. Our servers support 12kbps to 1024kbps streams.

Audio Field

Mono or Stereo? The choice is yours. Talk radio stations usually prefer mono streams since the audio is predominantly talk driven. This also allows for a higher quality as only one stream is being sent and not two.

SCALABILITY

If your current product is not satisfying you feel free to upgrade or downgrade at a moment’s notice. All of our products offer complete scalability and the only costs you will incur are the server setup charges. This is the perfect opportunity to find the perfect product for you.

OBTEK OUTSIDE BROADCASTING

OBTEK is a method for outside broadcasting using the server provided by us. Our server will cache your signal before it is relayed to the studio. Have crystal clear ISDN or better quality Outside Broadcasts using any technology from standard POTS, ISDN, ADSL or even 3G/HSDPA. Yes, many of our clients have done roaming outside broadcasts that allows them to be on the move while broadcasting. Imagine the marketing possibilities! Drive down the famous Golden Highway in Gauteng or the N2 in Cape Town during peak time traffic drawing attention to your brand as people turn their heads in traffic.

STREAMING STL

Streaming STL is a revolutionary new means of getting your signal to your transmitter or to another location using streaming audio technology. It functions on a very similar principle to OBTEK without the quality limitations. In theory single channel ISDN uses 64kbps for audio transportation; dual channel uses 128kbps for video which is referred to as Low Quality. Streaming STL can handle up to 1024kbps which is double the quality of the industry standard dual ISDN. Crystal clear signal distribution is any TV stations dream and we make this a reality. No Telkom lines by your transmitter? Use WIMAX for ADSL speeds in remote locations.

DUAL CAST

Dual Cast is a first in the country initiative that allows the listener to pause and rewind live streaming audio for between 30 to 365 days. This gives your existing advertising clients extra value for their campaign. There is absolutely no need to change existing structures on the listener’s computer and everything works through the existing player embedded in your website. The listener will have access to skip through show‐segmented streams on demand as well as pause or rewind functions.

STREAM BRAND

Stream brand allows your station to sell valuable real‐estate on your streaming audio. Brand your player or include an audio clip before your stream starts to gain extra advertising revenue or mitigate costs of the streaming audio.

PRE/POST ROLL ADS

Schedule an advert that will play every time before the stream starts, make this advert terrestrial and sell ad‐space per the geographic location of your listeners and increase your revenue. Place an advert after archived material and gain extra revenue from this as well. Schedule adverts to play online only at specific intervals such as every 15minutes allowing further advertising growth.

AUTOMATIC VIDEO CASTING

Now we are talking! Automatically podcast news bulletins, talk shows and perhaps even charts! Add pre and post roll ads to these automatically and never have to sift through archived audio material ever again. Make your website more interactive and your station more advertiser friendly.

CONTROL PANEL

Centova Cast is our brand new control panel of choice. View statistics, edit vital stream information, and create website links including: Song requests, VISUAL listener location maps, what is on air with direct links to affiliate to purchase the albums. Create backup playlists and track show popularity. And let’s not forget analytics.

GRAPHICAL USER STATISTICS

Graphical statistics are available through our control panel and are updated on access. This allows you to view the number of concurrent listeners at any time of the day. Demo to our software is available on request.

Want analytics? We no problem! Our software automatically provides this including city level tracing, peak hours (down to a minute). The software also includes a visual map and various bar graphs and charts for the different analytics.

VIDEO LOG

All of our commercial servers have the key ability to log 40 to 360 days of audio for ICASA purposes. This adds extra piece of mind should ICASA request audio clips. Provided your stream is being transmitted via streaming audio, your station will be logged.

PAYPER CLIP

A revolutionary product developed for commercial stations but available to all stations. Payper Clip allows you to sell your archived audio via SMS short codes, credit cards and OBS Billing. OBTek Streaming handles all payments on a 60day cycle. The funds generated by the station using this service will be off‐set from the streaming audio bill every month after 60 days and therefore it is not unusual for us to be paying you for your streaming audio! Should you prefer we will deposit the funds from this service into your account upon invoice instead of off‐setting.

OUTLINE OF PROCESS

An audio signal will be taken from the clients premises, encoded on the client’s premises, packaged and sent over the clients existing or new internet infrastructure to the server location. Once the signal has reached the server location it will then be packaged and sent to numerous listeners around the world. The exact number of maximum available listeners will be determined by the selected product. This can be anywhere from 5 to 850 000 with the possibility of side‐chaining servers together allowing for an infinite number of concurrent listeners.

Should the stream be cut off at the client’s location, the client will have between 30 and 60 seconds to reconnect the stream. Should the stream be connected in time, the listener will not experience any break in transmission or dead air. If the stream is not reconnected in time, the listener will consistently attempt to reconnect to the stream every 5 seconds. Or be entertained by your backup music selection.

CONTRACT PERIOD

There is no physical contract period. We merely request a month to month deal with one month notice. Should the client request we can provide 3,6,12 or 24 month contracts with 2 month notice periods after the halfway threshold.

DOMAIN NAME LINKAGE

Should the client wish, the provider can register a domain name (or sub domain name under clients existing domain) such as listennow.info or stream.webdomain.co.za for easy access to the stream. This means that you will have full branding over your own stream and it will not appear from a third party site

WEB HOSTING INCLUSIVE

Why not make it a one‐stop shop? All server packages include webhosting for free! Packages below the dominator include 50mb web space and 500mb bandwidth and packages above that include from 20 GB web space and uncapped bandwidth! FOR FREE! Use this for your website or your backup music.
